Originally formed in October of 2024, AI Atlantic is an Artificial Intelligence consortium representing a collaborative leadership group in AI across Atlantic Canada. Our mission is to pursue ethical AI goals and objectives that align with regional priorities. The consortium will drive innovation, facilitate knowledge sharing, and promote sustainable regional growth, while actively collaborating with other national centers and institutes. By advancing research in both fundamental and applied aspects of AI, we strive to cultivate partnerships among academia, industry leaders, and government to position Atlantic Canada as a hub of AI excellence.
The Atlantic Canada AI Summit 2026 took place from June 3-5, 2026, at University of New Brunswick (UNB) in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Organized by memebers of our leading institutions, this summit fostered collaboration across academia and industry in Atlantic Canada. The Summit showcased cutting-edge AI research, facilitated industry-academia collaboration, and highlighted the exceptional AI talent in the region. With attendence of over 400 participants, including 100 faculty members, 150 industry leaders, and 100-200 students, the summit was a tremendous success in engagement and learning for the Atlantic Canada region.
